Though there have been significant gains in literacy rates, large gender, social and regional disparities in literacy levels persist. The gains in literacy levels are due to success of the adult education programmes and improvements in primary schooling. However, there is a further need to enhance the literacy levels of the socially marginalized groups and those living in rural areas through interventions of adult education programmes and open schooling systems. This theme seeks to elicit views on how we achieve faster progress in reducing the existing disparities in literacy levels.

Through open school education. can be provided at for distant areas including tribal people. Education for all motive achievement should be considered as a part of it. At primary level. parents of such children should be guided at village level. In urban areas teachers should assemble those persons working as labour. Effective classroom courses should be provided to such students easily accessible for therm. Priority groups should be selected for primary as well as secondary groups.

The only real solution is to improve free schooling (government or aided) in the villages. The others are only bandaids which we try to apply.
