Though there have been significant gains in literacy rates, large gender, social and regional disparities in literacy levels persist. The gains in literacy levels are due to success of the adult education programmes and improvements in primary schooling. However, there is a further need to enhance the literacy levels of the socially marginalized groups and those living in rural areas through interventions of adult education programmes and open schooling systems. This theme seeks to elicit views on how we achieve faster progress in reducing the existing disparities in literacy levels.

I think that every child should be taught three inportant lessons first we should all the children allthe important holy books bhagavad gita quran bible the sikh holy book etcthis will prevent the so called man gods and fake religious leaders from taking the people for a ride.Second we should teach every child the basic human rights and the basic laws attched to our rights as a citizen both in terms of the costitution and the laws which help a citizen to question the authorities when needed

One education policy,one central government board and one system of education should be effective in our country.Mother tongue and Rajbhasha Hindi should be strongly adopted in education.Private boards and Councils of education in our country should be abolished at the earliest as they create differences and inferiority among the people of our country.Our government boards and councils are very much sufficient and efficient as compared to other private boards and councils.

to encourage women to study, teach them about first aid, home remedy for local ailment, what to do in emergency, this will attract them to study, right now our curriculum does not have any economic value added. Even adult can read class 5 books, but of no use as still they have to be manual labour.

in education for cbse /board /icsc/isc the pattern should be one i.e ncert books should be allowed second the fee structure should be decided as per govt rules.in states we see that govt school does not have cbse pattern /icse/icsc/isc.

Promotion of language & cultural integration: Mother tongue, Sanskrit (mother tongue of mother tongues) is a must in all Indian educational systems. Second level of assessment include language of one nabouring state, Third level of assessment include language of another nabouring different state. At fourth level of assessment, one of the two nabouring languagues to be continued & English or any foreign langague to be introduced. Strengthening and Uplifting existing govt schools and colleges. Govt already have vast and deep network of schools in every part of country. But due to lack of monitoring and supervision this schools have become a source of corruption. It should be made mandatory that children of all govt officials be sent to only govt schools atleast for primary education. This will bring this schools into direct supervision of Collectors, Commissioners, etc. which will uplift the standards of this schools

The nation exam called Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) is conducted by CBSE for government schools. As a matter of shameful fact, 93% teachers failed in the first examination conducted a few years back. Please verify the report.

I must ask everyone on this platform that how many of you want to become teacher from the core of your heart? That can either be at schools or universities. If most of the answers is NO, this is the basic problem. I am proud that I am a teacher.
