Allahabad city has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one among the potential 100 smart cities under the Smart City Mission. At present, Allahabad Nagar Nigam is in the process of revising the Smart city proposal for second round participation. In this regard, Citizens of Allahabad are requested to participate actively in all Citizen Engagement process and enable our city to successfully accomplish the vision of the Smart City Mission.

In Round-1; Citizens of Allahabad chose Retrofitting option for 1160 acres as Area Based Development which includes areas such as Residential colonies of Mumfordganj, Commercial area of Katra, portion of Allahabad University and rejuvenation of Chandrashekar Azad Park and Hathi Park.

Allahabad Nagar Nigam requests all its citizens to participate in this Citizen Engagement process and share their views on the below aspects in not more than 20 words for each and help ANN to strengthen the Smart City Proposal for the Round-2 challenge.

We request you to post your valuable suggestions on or before 02/06/2016.

Vision for Smarter Allahabad

Keeping in view the Heritage and rich cultural background of the city and city being called as “Oxford of the East”, abode of Prominent Scholars, Ministers, Artists and IAS officer, what is your vision for the City?

List three or four key issues in the city and prioritize for immediate action, to achieve the Vision?

Can you identify one solution for at least addressing two or three issues? (Smart mobility with ICT solutions viz., provision of Intelligent Traffic Management System and Multilevel parking. ICT solutions cover e-governance, 24x7 Potable Water Supply).

Organise farmers markets so that farmers from nearby areas can directly market their produce to city customers. The improvement in supply chain efficiency will not only enhance farmers incomes but also provide customers with quality goods at reasonable prices. As an alternative, open spaces like school playgrounds could be requisitioned during the weekends or during school vacations for the same purpose. The rental income obtained should serve as bonus for the authorities concerned.

Sensors and monitors can report on the actual condition of infrastructure so that operators can make better decisions, servicing equipment based on actual condition and not on a guess

Each and every transaction would attract certain percentage of such expenditure Tax and could never escape. This procedure is already practiced in USA. Elimination of income tax and imposing Expenditure tax would enlarge the exchequer substantially beyond expectation. Alternatively income tax could be clubbed in service tax or GST Itself. However income tax from corporates may be continued .

Income tax Department came into existence during British Regime. Cumbersome Procedure disturb real Entrepreneurs in financial affairs & cause to inconvenience . There are hardly 5% of population,who are tax payers in the Country. It would be worthwhile if the income tax itself is scrapped and Instead Expenditure Tax is introduced through out the country and preferably levied on the first point itself.
