While the general participation rates in higher education has been steadily increasing and today our HE GER is 21.5%, this is not evenly spread across social groups and women. Equitable growth is essential to sustain higher GER rates and hence what kinds of affirmative action could be suggested to reduce gender and social disparities in here.

Major social gap in education system is caused by reservation system. In addition to struggle of general category people, this also promotes a devide in society. Please stop reservation based on caste or religion.

I am against any reservation. We should remove all reservations except the most underprivileged tribes. I believe that reservations should not be based on castes. Instead they should be based on the economic grounds of a family. A fix number be reserved for economic backward families and rest seats should be open to all. Government can give scholarships to people from different casts, but admission to a institute should be on merit.

Gender gaps will be never bridged till law and order problem is improved considerably. Most of the countries which have low gender gap , have a good law and order situation. Look at the map attached. We need to improve law and order, We need to have a common helpline across India for reporting crime or manintain data. In India law and order situation do not reflect accurately as lower level official do not register case.

Sir, It is a known fact that men and women have different biological structure but at the same time the creator has assigned different roles for them to play for a healthy society. When for everything we have separate arrangement for women, why not education. We need to bifurcate the education system to cater to the needs of male and female. Segragation will definitely solve many a problems ailing our education system. Designing curriculum according to gender is the solution.
