While the general participation rates in higher education has been steadily increasing and today our HE GER is 21.5%, this is not evenly spread across social groups and women. Equitable growth is essential to sustain higher GER rates and hence what kinds of affirmative action could be suggested to reduce gender and social disparities in here.

Students of 10th and 12th standard should be given a choice, of appearing for the exams in February or September. One mustn't need to fail in one session to be able to appear later in September. Based on a student's academic abilities, one should be able choose when to give the exam. Ideally, a student can sit for both the sessions, and then compare the performance. This will enable pupils to handle academic pressures better and it will suit all students.

Our examination system should be changed.Because every student must be emphasized to eat more and vomit more of lessons from the classroom to the exam hall.Besides, the present examination systems do not give them joyful, satisfaction and fulfillment. It always gives them moreover fearness. It crushes them crucially and punishes them harshly. So,they expect us eagerly to remove or change it at once.No exam and no pain is students wonderland. We must remove its hurdles first. The grade systems are best.

I am happy that new education policy is being framed. I belong to teacher education sector. I have 40 years of experience in the field of teacher education. The quality of teacher education has gone down below zero level because our teacher education programmes are dominated by education aspects. There is no balanced between contents and education. We are preparing teachers to teach education as a subject in schools. There is no such subject in schools.

Children should be taught basic Laws. This will help future victims with knowledge of how they can use legal system to get justice. And it will act as a deterrent for future criminals, if punishments for various crimes are also taught.E.g. anti-dowry laws or anti-rape laws.

Subjects like gender equality, sex education, social responsibility etc should made compulsory during high schools and higher secondary. So that coming generations will not face issue much issues in this field. Also in school level some teachers treat students differently according to gender. It should be avoided+ Teachers should get special coaching on these. Sitting arrangements, campus, extra activities and so on should not have any separation on the basis of gender.
