Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

VILLAGE AGRI TOURISM Under this we can develop tourism for rural India. If we see rural India has its own advantages & features which will be highlighted like Organic Food grown within farms, poultry within farms, food cooked in village style which is different style & taste great. Cottages for staying with best comfort but theme should be rural India. these kind of farms will provide tourist with staying & seeing village life and refreshing environment. I can explain the model if you want.

It is the mystic charm that does the magic. The mantra should not be 'vocal for local' but also 'shout out for rural' India that's where the raw and rustic beauty lies. The mustard fields, the organic ingredients for home cooked meal, the simplicity of the hosts can take the breath away of tourists who visit the rural India. The towering forts, picturesque palaces ancient temples are an amalgamation of what one calls the rich heritage of the country. The more aware we are better tourism it is.

As all villages have ponds, open fields, some places hills also. So I will request to select such places in villages and make park, restaurants, gaming zone, etc. Develop any temple, library or science park with local arrangements. And none of them must free, whereas a minimum amount for membership must be there. Yearly different type of inter villages tournaments can be organized. On different theme, in different villages annual Mela or other festivals can be organized. Thank you.
