Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

Villages are the root of country. Our country is known variety of religions, customs, traditions and cultures with their unique features that attracts the attention of tourists. These uniqueness need to be preserved as these are limited to the villages only. Villagers often migrates to cities in search of livelihood. Then who will preserve our villages? Therefore, our old temples, monuments, fields and even people of the villages should be encouraged and given value for their work in villages.

To leverage cultural heritage of rural India, basic infrastructure with a blend of tourism needs to be created.Cottages with basic amenities, hygiene and sanitation gelling with village environment. Employment and training of hospitality staff from locals. Marketing on already established portals like Airbnb or separate govt portal. Integration of stay with local activities, local food etc. To function under village panchayat under SOP issued by govt. Inclusion in CSR. Awards for best facility.

Rural Area for Tourism purposes would be exciting as many of the tourists want to experience the Rural life and want to capture the moments. But for that,We can't give the infrastructure which we use for urban areas as it will lost its specialty of being Rural. We just make efforts to clean and maintain the areas without changing its originality. As the Life of Rural World is quite awesome to get experienced. There must be same Chulha, Copper utensils, clean fields and so on to attract its fans

Vilkegers if combinly starts their culture oriented well interiors made resort on highway, many city families will visit and spend their weekend. Now it is trend cum fashion to play village-side games, food, folk dance etc. The venture like Rajsthani chain of Chokar dani is making good money. Vilkegers can work on shift basis as they have agriculture work also. They may attached bullock cart visit to their farms. Ladies can make Chullah base food items which are more preferred.

India has been a distinct destination for tourism in the country. It attracts people from all over the world to visit some of the tourist destinations in India but they are just a few of the admirable tourist destinations in the small rural areas. All you need to do is analyze and identify the visitors.

Food is something which can attract tourism, every village has it's culture and every culture has a language and food. And all this needs to go online, inter connecting Govt.web sites, so that it's secure and safe. A local representative need to be appointed. so the search online get the right info, plan accordingly.
