Rural tourism helps in getting information about agriculture, farming, local governance etc. Rural tourism is helpful in eliminating the illusions about rural lifestyle that are commonly held by urban people, such as rural people living in unhealthy environments, or rural life being insecure.
Rural tourism provides an opportunity for an individual to discover the diversity prevailing in remote parts of India.

Rural India has a lot to offer to the people. To identify these areas and to explore the possibilities of tourism in this region, the united efforts of the Central Government and the State Governments are needed. This is very important to encourage rural tourism in the country. Only then can rural tourism be expanded and developed.
