Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

I have been visited many places till now I proud to be an Indian so I appreciate my country for this apart from this I would like to say that many places still don't have govt toilets so plz look after this.

Sir following points are required to be addressed. 1) Find out the traditional skilled artisan and update their skill with technology. 2) Urban school studets must visit village near by for basic knowlege. 3) All basic sercices and facilities should be as standard as the Urban areas. 4) All wast land near by village must be utilised for community and for poover people to upgrade their livelihood. 5) Production use of technology and better crops cycle, use of seltilight guidence must

TOURISM : to promote tourism, the prospective tourists (presumably with deep pockets) need assurance of decent roads, electricity, clean water, clean rooms with sanitation facilities. These pre-conditions when fulfilled will eventually lead to better tourism. To meet these conditions, cheap electricity is a must. Rural India has sunlight in abundance - solar panels can become cost effective in due course, but in the beginning the Govt. needs to subsidise these to encourage green energy.

We should advertise our delicious food in rural india connected benefits with real local stories like litti chokha to be ate on Saturdays sothat it keeps your metabolism excellent

Dear sir U r start oll raday many programs .so if aver grampanchayat..nagar panchayat.. follow then rizelt gat very good.. 1every gam have talab like kakriya..same digital...program. 2..gam na rasta and gate with CCTV 3 gam na sarpanch togethering every month streek li With oll gramjan..to shall nagarvasi problem 4.make aney god tample..and ather every 3years temple.panitanki.panchayat..gov hospital.school. make panting.. 5.u see all Indian giving back village home proudly this modal

India is a country with huge potential. We have to develop our villages as each and every villages in our country has its own unique features. Nowadays families have moved out of villages. In morden days parents give their children education but they fail to give them the flavour of our heritage. Nowadays children don't know even their language. They feel ashamed of their culture and adopt other cultures. So if we develop villages as tourism spots the inome of rural people will also increase.

Rural villages communities can be promoted to develop/enhance their inbuilt talent/values including folk dances, sport/games, creating articles/paintings/toys/craft likewise, healthy cultural food stalls, build large gardens/parks with different themes, balancing with nature like many more. Based on all these concepts tourism (indigenous and foreign) can be promoted to Rural Villages that will further spread awareness on their ability to maintain ecology and life balance in urban/smart cities.

A great initiative by the government. Our villages are rich in culture and beauty. Tourism in villages will not only add to their income,will also keep it clean. Ideas will widen, education will become important. 1.Home stays in villages 2.Tour through the farmlands and its knowledge will make urbans to respect farmers and farmers will get motivated 3.Local guide will be one from the homestay or whom they choose.4.Fishing,swimming in local pond, playing physically 5.listening to spcl stories
