I suggest based on the season each of area of India's village they can organise a day trip to the field where they can make food items from the fresh available crop from the fields, organise the local folk theams such as pottary, puppet show, games.
In Maharashtra such things are being organised as Hulda Party (the raw Jawari ).
People are treated with all day food and games etc., including rides of Bullock carts for a fixed entry fee from morning till evening.

Village trekking & gram darshan, can be promoted by organising tourism to make individuals and specially students experience village life. The village culture can be shown, the weekly & daily hats and the skilled manpower can exhibit their work. Villages are the key sustenance units and secure livelihood of farmers and people interested in taking up agriculture as their occupation.
