The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

Physical training (e.g. Judo Karate) of girls need to be the mandatory and integral part of their school curriculum. That is the only way to keep them safe at home and outside home, not only for a day or two but for all the times to come. This strategy does not involve any risk, thus less likely to fail.

Beti needs Protection from abduction in childhood, in her adultscent stage and even after marriage. After all this, Beti needs a respectable & able family to marry, The father competes very hard to get a suitable boy for her beti and surrenders all his earning, all his ego but fails to get a suitable boy.So BETI PADHAO & BETI BACHAO becomes unaffordable for most. Therefore better job oppurtunity,Law & order will automatically solve the problem.

The govt of India should broadcast Swachh Bharat messages on every possible media outlet (TV,Radio, newspaper) . They should also paint messages on Buses and Trains .We need to address this issue with the same seriousness as we address "Family Planning " message in the 80s. It may/may not have much impact on the current generation but it will definitely have a BIG impact on the subsequent generations. Kids will retain and follow through on this message more than current day adults.

This should rather be looked upon very differently and with a view of social reform. This should be taken as a 'renaissance' and to change the societal view of looking at women as a commodity as a whole. A different attitude be undertaken wholesomely to foster women growth and equal opportunity in the future. discrimination against women should be checked as not only they hinder women progress, also cut down upon the female work force of the nation. Rather an encouraging approach be pursued.

As we grow, we learn how to behave to those around us. In this socialization, children are introduced to certain roles that are specially linked to their biological gender. The term gender role addresses to society's concept of how men and women are expected to behave. These roles are based on rules and standards, created by society. In our culture, male roles are usually associated with strength, agility, and dominance and feminine roles are usually associated with politeness and nobility.
