The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

Every parent should teach both kids to do own work the way they teach daughters. No wonder why girls are more responsible. Is not it a fault of parents when they grow boy n girl in own house seperatly. Girls are always told to study and earn atleast for marriage. Today's youth will need to come forward to overcome this barrier. Even they can have a girl child in their home.

1. Make awareness that every child independent of daughter or son should take care of parents. It is very important that even if family has one daughter they should be freely able to bring her up thinking she will take care of them same way a boy would do. May be not in same house but whenever needed. At the end it is truth of our culture that boy can take care of his parents in fact he would want a girl who will take care of his family but do not want any of her responsibility.
