The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

My suggestion regarding women empowerment(posting here because there isn't another group): We need to move away from a patriarchial society. So kindly take the bold step of changing the fundamental rules after implmentation of Uniform Civil Code. Create or amend the matrimony act where in the bridegroom adopts the bride's religion and the child gets the religion of the mother. This will be a boost to women as well as prevent forced conversions by men from certain religions with vested interests

When we think of girl education we should not limit the scope to teaching them how to score marks in exam. We should also educate the girl how to run a house, responsibility with in laws, responsibility as wife, daughter, mother etc. Most important is to train the girl how to survive in this cruel world. This is required for growing girls. A lot of boys and people roam the streets who are in constant effort to lure a girl, sometimes people also change names, religion and hide their true identity

To move forward the movement of "BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO" the ideal way is to provide the financial aid to the parents thru PM's "Jan Dhan Yojana" and medical aid thru ESI hospitals.

Hon'ble PM Sir, there are many remote places in our land where the poor children are not getting their education properly, being a girl from middle class family I have the tough experience about life, struggles, hurdles. Sir, I am working in a company where I have dedicated myself maximum hours for my job and earns money for my family livelihood. Girls are generally concerned, sensitive and loyal to their family. But strange, there is still discrimination.
