Under Smart City Mission stage 1 & 2 challenge, the Municipal Corporation of Thoothukudi has received overwhelming response from its citizens, stakeholders in Smart City suggestions and ideas.

As a part of citizen engagement & consultation process Thoothukudi corporation organized a wide range of activities - e.g. submission of polling forms, essay writing competition, stakeholder consultation, social media (MyGov, Facebook, Twitter, Corporation website ), voting(online & offline) and Focus group discussions etc.

On the basis of almost 7788 (both offline and online) suggestions and votes received from citizens of Thoothukudi , the Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation in co-operation with its consultants has prepared a Smart City Proposal document for the City which encompasses different aspirations and dreams to be realized for the port based and industrial city development.

So, we invite all citizens of Thoothukudi to participate in this review process where they can give their opinion about these documents to make it the best Smart City Proposal.

#Thoothukudi If any public interfering government authorities prepared the proposal,that could have been more useful than this I think.Locating what they plan to do in what area of Thoothukudi is not clear in this proposal

#Thoothukudi The Smart city Thoothukudi proposal is vague in places.Page 5 mentions Scenario 1, 2 and 3 but the meaning of these ratings are not mentioned. Similarly in page 19 Area 1, 2, 3 are categorized in maps.But on what basis it is categorized and what it means is not clear.To the common public decoding this proposal is very difficult

#Thoothukudi Though they take the service of "Mahindra Consulting Engineers" why the draft proposal should have mahindra name in footnote in most part of the document?

#Thoothukudi In Thoothukudi, in the cotton roads dead rats are frequently seen.Seems to be there is big issue with rats in cotton road areas.But they are not removed quickly from roads.The basic reason for these rats should be found and resolved.And the cleaning people should be provided with hand cloves.Have seen the person dragging a dead dog in the main area of Thoothukudi with empty hand.
