The Conservation should not be confined till protected areas or marked reserves, wetlands can also be found near cities and micro environment also flourishes there.

one can conserve the wetland or the biosphere like the locals or people who are dependent around , so education , protection and involvement of these communities is very essential. Some times connection of place or species is important than taking Bureaucratic Decisions. Mitigation measures too take important part.

Wetlands must be cultivated by farmers. Of left idle, these are prone to get filled by town waste or prone to filling up for building construction. We just need to look around and we could see many apartments, shopping malls, etc constructed in wetlands. Such constructions may be levied heavy penalties to deter such ventures in future. The demolition of apartments in Maradu, Kochi, Kerala must be an eye opener & deterrent for all
