The electricity can be obtained from the municipal waste generated in the cities. This waste also generates biogas which can be used to fuel the city CNG buses. Further this biogas can be enhanced by adding Hydrogen(Made from same biogas) to make HCNG/Hythane fuels which improves emissions compared to NG and other conventional fuels. With usage of HCNG fuels we shall be able to improve public health , be more efficient and take a step ahead towards Hydrogen fuels which is the fuel of the future.

Replace the Glass facades in most of the buildings with Solar Panels.Mandate that any commercial or residential complexes beyond say 50000 Sq.Ft. should have at least 20% of their power requirements met through renewable energy.Compliance should be rewarded through tax breaks for commercial establishment & rebates on the utility spend for non commercial establishments.Also mandate that 10-15% of CSR funds by all organizations should be used for establishing renewable energy generation sources.
