If we (India) want to compete with China or west, we must complete our defense project with 4 or 5 times the speed, what we have done previously of we have promised. For example, we should set up various testing facilities such as Engine flying test bed, Wind tunnel testing to expedite the Indigenous engine and AMCA respectively. There could be much more improvement, which you can find out by auditing each project. We really need a sincere approach, we can just run away from our responsibilities

Why are defense projects can't be expedited. For example, why LCA Tejas MK2 first flight is scheduled after 2018. If this is the pace we are going to perform, then we could never catch up with the west or China, which is actually one of your vision. I think a serious audit should be done for each ambitious project and all areas to be identified, expediting which can speed up the project double or probably 4 times.
