Ordinance route is gross abuse of power. The Supreme Court has criticized the practice of legislation by ordinance a number of times. It is an emergency power to be used only in extraordinary situations. Honb’le Finance Minister Shri A. Jaitley, who was the BJP leader in the Rajya Sabha criticized the UPA government Ordinance on food security last year. The same Minister is defending the NDA Government’s Ordinance as a demonstration of its commitments to reforms.

I believe that true test of good governance means effectively guaranteeing certain rights, which among others include the right to health. For a reality there is crying need for the government to create necessary infrastructure to provide proper & adequate health care facilities for all particularly for the people belonging to the vulnerable sections of our society as a constitutional fundamental right. It is essential for health of the poor for upholding their human dignity.

Waiver of farm loans are being followed more to gain political mileage than to help the farmers ultimately ruining the economy. Most farm loans are not being repaid anticipating waivers by successive Governments. Even rich farmers don’t repay loans anticipating waiver and many obtain farm loans for non-farm purposes. The discretion of the bank authorities are being misused. The Government may stop farm loans and instead extend credit for inputs alone. This will weed out fake loans.
