A large number of tribal people and other forest dwellers derive their source of livelihood from the collection and marketing of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) which provides them essential food, nutritional, medicinal needs and cash income also. As the business of MFP is different from the traditional ones, it denies due benefits. While government supported Corporations and Federations trade in some MFPs, a large number of these are traded freely in the market which is also not very helpful to the gatherers as MFP production is highly dispersed spatially and because of the poor accessibility of these areas, a competitive market does not exist. As a strategic interventions to ensure fair returns for the MFPs to the gatherers/collectors, the Government has come up with a new scheme of Mechanism for Marketing of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) through Minimum Support Price (MSP) and Development of Value Chain for MFP.

Through the MyGov Platform, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, seeks suggestions/information from all section of the society regarding innovative ideas for value addition to the MFPs, processing and marketing of MFPs, traditional skill and skill development, etc.

1. Government must consider procuring spices directly from forest regions at a price and also facilitate the export of the goods. 2. Price with govt will help faster growth. 3. Direct sales of products manufactures in forest regions in cities and online sales facility by govt. or to help them to sale through other e-commerce websites. 4. Marketing should be handled by govt by creating separate website for forest produces so that common public can buy and postal department must handle delivery.

PM needs to talk about benefits of using Plates made of "Pattal" in his Mann ki Baat as he did for encouraging use of Khadi."Pattal" plates will be environmentally friendly compared to the currently used plastic or thermocol plates.Above that it will generate employement opportunities for our ppl. who survive on forest products.

first of all we should set up main controlling centers according to the areas i.e. if there is small forest area 'A' which has a place 'B'by which 'A' is connected for their basic needs,we should set up small controlling center and collection centers over there which will collect their products and their views and will submit those at the nearest distt. or tehsil which will then further submit them to their repective state business headquarters. and likewise there products can reach out.

Ist we need to select people from tribal community itself who are the best evaluator of there own produce, they also care for nature as well. All they need is a hand to support which can nurture them to face the market situations;can be taken care by NGOs working towards upliftment of tribal communities. With independent platform to perform i.e. Development of market infrastructure and handovering the same to the communities; is enough alongwith regular followup through tech-solutions, by GOI.

Online portals like flipkart, snapdeal, amazon, etc. should provide a page for tribal produce to market the products separately. Or government should have an easy online portal for tribal produce to market them and generate money for locals. This is not easy but not very difficult too. Govt. pays a considerable amount of money on welfare. Just a team of 5 people will be enough to tackle such jobs for one state.
