The draft NHP 2015 has been formulated and placed in public domain for stakeholder consultations. Suggestions/comments/feedback are invited on the policy which inter-alia include the following broad areas: goals, principles, objectives, policy directions, Investment, Preventive and Promotive Health, Organisation of Public Health Care Delivery, Human Resources for Health, Financing of Health Care and engaging the private sector, Regulatory framework, Medical technologies, ICT for Health and Health Information Needs, Knowledge for Health, Governance, Legal framework for healthcare and the Right to Health.

The last date for submission of your comments is 10th February, 2015.

Health Policy should be well written on grounds such as in Ensuring available funds are used equitably and efficiently, by appropriate provider payment mechanisms, aligning financing and service delivery incentives; addressing fragmented financing systems; appropriate use of tools, such as contracting, to achieve appropriate balance between activities, programmes, inputs, capital versus recurrent expenditures, and ensuring protection of vulnerable population groups.

Poor or EWS get medical benefit under EWS quota. Rich can get best medical facility any where. Its time to think for middle class also. Specially private sector employees with no job security, no social & medical benefit security.

A number of food supplements (baby foods) are available in the market produced by MNCs.Many mothers use them to feed their babies instead of breast feeding.The tendency may be discouraged by education through campaigns,hospitals and health workers. The main ingredient of 'tin foods' are cereals,milk ,vitamins and flavor. Cost of them are high.The Govt may initiate to produce and popularize cost effective food supplements to children of various age groups who are under nutrition.

The film is about my 14 days visit to MP's three district hospital Sheopuri, Morena and Gwalior where I visited post nature and caesure wards to examine the neonates and maternal care. I found lack of awareness among the women about the healthcare practices and showed weakness, stunted neonates who were showing symptoms of weak IQ and low focus. As per statistics, about 46,000 Indians die of snake bites every year. It is mainly due to unavailability of anti-venom in primary health centers where it is needed most. People residing at remote villages need to get anti-venom at nearest health centers to start treatment as early as possible. It is one important public health issue to be looked at.

The NABH which is quality control organization for hospitals should formulate guidelines for prevalance , diagnosis and management of the patients on the basis of Evidence based practice. Indian guidelines need to be prepared by the various organizations . compulsorily all the consultants should indulge in formulaton of the practice guidelines .

Special initiatives may be taken up to make India rabies free. Every year, thousands of Indians mostly children die of rabies. I think this is our shame. Sometimes, patients do not get anti-rabies vaccine on time due to short supply. I feel, it is a significant public health problem in our country. The root-cause of this problem, the number of stray dogs roaming freely, needs to be checked.

all schools and colleges (from class 8th onwards) need to be shown clips of citizens affected by tobacco, unhygienic food, water, lack of proper sanitation and personal cleanliness...so that they get a firsthand idea of the effects of tobacco, liquor and lack of hygiene....just being told orally will not suffice...once they see the effect and hear firsthand account themselves, then the impact will be greater and one can learn take care of ones health in young age itself...
