The Internet and social media platforms provide its users an array of opportunities to engage, participate, interact and learn. At the same time, they pose a significant threat to users in terms of privacy, security risks and cyber bullying.

In order to sensitize and create awareness among young internet users on safe and responsible use of internet and available online technologies, Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) seek suggestions on a discussion titled “How to keep children safe online?”

The best suggestions will be incorporated in awareness and sensitisation plan to be unveiled/launched as a part of Internet Safety Guidelines for children and Youth.

by adding books like gita etc in there syllabus from class 1 to 12 will secure the children from online activities for eg in ramayana says bhay bin hoya na preet agar dhar hoga to wo baccha suru se hi galat activities pe nahi jayega kyoki use suru se hi itni aachi bata bataii jayangi uska brain aur sab galat activity par nahi jayaga .aap logo ne dekha hi hoga jab kisi family me baby born hota hai to agar uske parents marathi ,gujarati, punjabi hotokyakisi punjabika child surusehimarathi bolanahi

Training: Discuss the online threats & encourage exploration by reading Wikipedia. Collectively decide upon a list of private information. A big brother character in family to whom they feel confident with sharing when bullied. Alertness: Connect with the youth on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr. Technology: Enable "Lock SafeSearch" in Google. Use safe dns settings of OpenDNS FamilyShield. Use free antivirus like Avira. Paste this near study place. Make them debate about it, appreciate them!

Banks give very hard time to NRIs for even mobile number update in our own account - whereas actually it should be completely online and real time. Banks are saying it is "Reserve Bank rule..."!!

1. Reduce internet exposure of children by allowing them to play outside, starting indoor games clubs etc 2. Indian Cotract Act doesn't allow agreement with minors. Facebook should be asked to discontinue access to minors in India. 3. There should be one click button available in all social media platforms, email providers to report stalking. The mail with all details should reach the nodal centre. 4. The child's browsing habit to be monitored by software like Cyber Nanny.

What we need to do is do is to check what children should surf. There are provisions by which we can block some sites from accessing. In fact any site which we want. So every parent should do that by that software so that their children can get the useful information as to what is needed from the internet and not get themselves indulge in bad things.
