The Internet and social media platforms provide its users an array of opportunities to engage, participate, interact and learn. At the same time, they pose a significant threat to users in terms of privacy, security risks and cyber bullying.

In order to sensitize and create awareness among young internet users on safe and responsible use of internet and available online technologies, Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) seek suggestions on a discussion titled “How to keep children safe online?”

The best suggestions will be incorporated in awareness and sensitisation plan to be unveiled/launched as a part of Internet Safety Guidelines for children and Youth.

The last date of submission of your comments is 17th February, 2015.

I strongly believe that Internet needs to be regulated. The huge amount to explicit and porno content is easily available. With smart phones and data connection the internet reach is much easy than earlier. With no guidance available, this been one of the major cause of increasing crime against women and kids. As all sites are rated, it's easy to block adult and explicit contents. I also believe we organize help camps on safe surfing and safe usage and also provide counselling on adult content

With the growing trends of marketing through the very popular mass media, it is very common to encounter provocative ads while surfing. I think, the children must be taken care of and they deserve such an environment where their thoughts can be nourished to be constructive as they are the future. There must be some stringent measures to stop these malicious practices of businessmen from infiltrating the internet -The biggest, most effective knowledge resource today.

Idea is to make business class people pay tax as much as possible. This can be done in very simple way. If our finance minister make policy where salary people save his / her tax by submitting bill receipt. 1. This will encourage salaried people to submit more and more bills. 2. Government should build a software which calculated sum total for particular firm/shops/industry etc.. 3. Now if they pay less tax then catch them. This will force them to pay tax.

cyber crimes should get maximum punishment. here in india too many women are being raped by the public through their spy videos and rape videos.so govt should take steps to stop these crimes and should give maximum punishment for those anti social elements who post and share these videos...we are now in a society where people are sadists....
