India is the World’s second largest producer of Fruits & Vegetables. However, the processing of perishable products in our country is very low, in comparison to the developed countries or developing countries like China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. One of the main constraints in the growth of processing of fruits & vegetables in the country is non-availability of modern and suitable infrastructure with efficient supply Chain. Consequently, there is very high level of wastage of the fruits & vegetables in the country resulting in the farmer not getting adequate remuneration for his yield. A study conducted by Central Institute of Post Harvesting Engineering Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana, an ICAR institute, reveals that wastage in various agricultural crops in the country range from 6-18% and the highest loss has been shown in fruits and vegetables.

Ministry of Food processing Industries invites views/ suggestions for reduction of these losses.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 1st February 2015.

Hon. Prime Minister of India, I would like to see the urban cities of India with good roads and without any pot holes. It feels so humiliating when foreign tourists enter India via Mumbai airport and they see huge slum and pathetic road.

I m requesting Mr. P.M. to remove quotas and reservation from collegees after 12th the students are not getting there right places where they should be. The student withh required marks should get admission in the colleges he want to. This will also reduce discrimination among different religion/caste/race etc. For instance a student with 90% is not getting admission in college if the seats are reserved for the with different caste having only 60%. This is an request to P.M just think on it sir.

With below solution, farmer will get some minimum cost & government will get excess product to take care of to feed there good initiative, like food at school, old age home, Ashrams.

Community Cold Storage Warehouse can be Good Solution to the Problem And Also Cooperative Cold Storage Warehouses Will Provide Extra income of Farmers and can Raise there Standard of life.

1. Develop cold storage @ private sector with incentive skim 2. purchase extra produce at some minimum rate 3. At cold storage maintain a central inventory of stock. 3. Distribute the excess produce to schools, ashrams, old age home , where government is giving subsidy in form of money 4. Good quality produce cell to private sector 5. Rest can be used as feed, raw input for compost & bio-gas.

cannot we have an account of all the farmers in the country and their production limits......so that we can avoid wastage. its very logical that farmers should maintain the supply of vegetable and fruits according to market demand .because these are perishable items and no amount of storage and transport facilities can help the loss
