Food loss in fresh produce chains are a grave problem worldwide and it is most prevalent in developing countries. Up to 70% of fruit and vegetables in these countries, especially in India, is lost along the supply chain. High food losses are a major hurdle in achieving uniform food supply chains. It has after effects on food security and economic growth, especially in Africa where most of the countries depends on agriculture. More, food losses result in wastage of resource and expenditure.

The godown for storage, transportation to market should be fast and then again in the market storage should be in air coolled places so that fruit and vegetables do not rotten due to high temperature.storage of these things should be as in the godown so they are at some height from floor so that mouse or anything like do not eat it.last but not the least there should be some medicine in godown and transport to protect it from mouse but keeping in mind it also does not effect fruits .

To reduce post-harvest losses in supply chain of fruits & vegetables we should ensure (i) Better market linkage, (ii) Transportation of the farm produces in controlled ambiance (temperature, humidity, etc.) and (iii) Minimization of time in transportation of the produces from farm to platter.

Calculate the perishable time.. Create local hubs and national hubs. Send the produce to the place where it can be consumed within perishable time.If the total is not expected to be consumed within the local hub then the produce to be directly preserved in packaged form for longer duration and can be exported or supplied to remote locations where scarcity exists.through the national hub

This types of problems can be resolved by making groups of farmers, packagers and stockist . The village stockist must provide data regarding stock through online. This data will help fci and other traders to collect required goods from there.
