One of the important endeavors of the present government has been to improve the 'Ease of Living'. In simple words, this means that the citizen-government interface, in matters of daily routine, must be made as seamless as possible and as citizen friendly as possible. Among other things, this has translated into reforming many rules and regulations and in an overwhelming number of cases completely doing away with such antediluvian rules which had not only outlived their utility, but in many cases were frankly anti-people. The mandate has been clear - between the citizens and the governments, the rules and processes must defer to ensuring the ease of living of citizens.

Consider for example the earlier rule of seeking gazetted officers attestation to validate one's documents before appearing in exams. That rule is now history. Trusting the citizens was the mandate and self-attestation is now the new rule. Or consider the move to scrap interviews for non-gazetted Group D, C and B government jobs. In one stroke the entire industry of 'recommendations' has been shut down and pure merit has become the norm.

What are other such outdated and ill-conceived rules, regulations or practices that hinder the normal day to day lived experience of the people? In day-to-day governance issues what are the processes or system that can be simplified or simply done away with? Which are processes that serve the exact opposite purpose they are intended to serve? Rules, regulations and laws that serve no useful social purpose but merely create unnecessary red tape and bureaucracy and therefore need to go?

MyGov invites citizens, members of civil society, journalists, students, teachers, police officers, government employees, Parliamentarians, academics experts, bureaucrats, social media influencers, Think Tanks and all other interested people to give their considered view on the subject.

Road Accidents are biggest killer in the country & major share is of youths. One of the main reasons of these accidents is inadequate training (trg) of drivers. Most commercial vehicle drivers are trained on the job when they do cleaner duties, by driver of the vehicle. Suggestion is all vehicle manufacturers as a Govt rule be entrusted with job of providing Motor driving trg and license to 2 or more persons sponsored by the buyer. Similarly for non commercial vehicles including 2 wheeler.

As we MF Distributors, whose income is less than 20 lakhs per year are helping the public in the creation of wealth and there by push forward the country's progress when the participation is very poor, we may be kept out of the purview of GST permanently.

Respected Prime Minister, Most of the employees retired from Public sector Undertakings are not covered under any Health scheme like CGHS . Due to which they face financial burden of medical expenses of self & spouse. Kindly do something for them so as to cover under some Health scheme, so that they can take care of their health in the old age, with no source of pension etc. and unable to stand in long Qs in Govt. Hospitals.

Dear Prime Minister, In August, lakhs of students will begin a new journey when they enter college. There can't be no better way to kick-start this endeavor than planting a sapling in or around the campus. These saplings will transform into well grown trees by the time they complete their graduation and they start another journey to serve the nation. Students should take care of these throughout their stay in the institutes. Academic & Administrative authorities should play an enabling role.

Please improve usability of government websites. Please hire good product managers who can help with this. There are too many government websites and keeping track of all of them is challenging. user interface is quite bad. (Except IRCTC). For example, we needed a fresh copy of the aadhaar card, but couldn't find a way to request online, had to opt for change request. Voter ID registration website needs improvement. My online req for changing address for voter ID still waiting since 6 months.

Please fix deadlines for requests for birth certificate and such documents. Even if requests are to be filed manually, If the request can be tracked online, it will add accountability for staff.
