All people should focus more on plantation of trees in the area nearby their residence. This will help in beautification of an area and also helps to keep the temperature low during summer time..Also creation of lawns in nearby area.ie. society ground, roads nearby area will help to hold the rain water and will help to increase ground water level in that area..

ICT based small tools creating awareness towards community participation in watershed management would really help. It could be - mobile apps, games, jingles .... Watershed management should become a community demand driven process; however, what is required and why should be provided before community comes forward. Hence it is important to reach individuals stating their problems and available solutions by way of watershed management - this can happen only if we start using ICT effectively.

All residential societies having more than 100 members must be made to have rain water harvesting mechanism and STP. This sewage treated water only should be used for flush in toilet. If society doesn’t implement this, say within 1 year or 18 months as decided by you sir. Then society must be fined by local corporation (say in my case Pune Muncipal corporation) Rs 25000. If project is not completed even after 3 months of penalty, corporation should cut water supply to the society.
