Watershed development requires cleaning up of areas like canals and tanks which are full of wild bushes. Govt should provide fund and freedom to local administration which is lacking now.

Let every government concern , university, college , company be made responsible for at least 100 trees in their vicinity or any nearby place which they deem fit . It will be their responsibility to plant, nurture and protect till three years . That way, afforestation will get a big boost. Alternatively, they can choose any area where major soil erosion has taken place. Likewise, schools be given the responsibility to every class to take care of at least 1 tree in the school premises.

we need a Right to Water Table Act....every citizen should be able to access ground water at a reasonable depth. Government must reverse the depletion of the water table from North West India which has been going on for the past 50 years. Once the glaciers melt, ground water will be the only source for North India. Government must consult Anna Hazare and Rajendra Singh and prevent the approaching calamity...

Sir, I am not against funding high statue's with taxpayers money, but there should be some difference between leaders building parks worth 7000 crores in cities with water scarcity. Those parks are worthless to common public and so will this statue be, people praise Sardar Patel for his ideology and so do we but building a statue with a total budget of 2500 crores is too much, hope these comment will not be taken as a critic.

Initiate corporate partnership, a competition to select the cheapest model of rainwater harvesting would instigate the brighter minds to come up with ideas, and best model should be rewarded to setup a small manufacturing unit which would supply these units at low cost.

To start with, select the most water starved city and just implement that all newly constructed buildings will not get the plans approved from authorities if they are not having rain water harvesting systems in place, gradually bring it to whole city, the manufacture should be given tax rebates to make the system cheap and user friendly for common man

sir scarcity of water is rising hugely bcoz of not of bad habit or lack of awareness bt also instrumentis on we are using . high cost of good quality TAP is ALSO ON PROBLEM . it forces low income people to buy DRIPPING TAP . such small quantity dripping collectively form huge amount of water loss . this water is good water ie may be POTABLE also . if we provide best quality of TAP AT SUBSIDIZED PRICE then it would save lot of water .AND ALSO MONEY OF POOR PEOPLE ....

Dear Sir, we have to follow the ancient system like to dig the pond in each and every village to store the rain water and can be used for cultivation and day to day usage.
