In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

Just read this article (http://goo.gl/n3zP6J) that the word "OM" is being removed from yoga promotion by govt. this is not promoting our culture. this'd be abusing our culture. Please PM sir stop this non-sense.

I have practised more yoga after coming to USA/Canada whether it is in office lunch hour or Bikram 'hot yoga'; 'Tibetien Yoga' :) Now we have International Yoga Day, may be we can develop other innovative yoga themes/packages and sell it to Rest of the World. Our soft Power. Some ideas: Yoga for youth and beauty Yoga for detoxification Yoga for 'Nirvana' just some name /topics coming to my mind based on what attracts people. It would be selling 'old wine in the new bottle'

yoga is a excellent way of living. One gets good energy from it. It is beneficial for our health. It was a excellent step of PM to recommend UN to celebrate world yoga day.Sadly very few people practice Yoga in India. I request PM to tell importance of Yoga through Maan Ki Baat.

Sir, with the great efforts taken by PM the UN also recognised the YOGA, but what is happening in India. Please give suitable instructions to the schools to make compulsory yoga training. Make Doordarshan channels to have dedicated regional songs channels too. All the private channels are earning crores and crores but we having DD with no men watching.
