In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

c). The 'mind science' and Positive Thinking aspects of Yoga needs to be highlighted. d). Its importance for individual development and social-harmony (which in turn helps for world peace) can be mentioned. e). Its influence in making the people to think with cool-mind can be mentioned. f). Its influence in developing 'optimism' towards life can be explained. ->It can develop due to the usual practice followed in meditation to keep trying for the 'bliss', in spite of several distractions.

It is a great idea to have an ‘International Day of Yoga’. However, it is important to present the full picture of it to the world, and not as an alternate exercise regime. a). It is important to mention the 8 ‘Angaas’ of it (Ashtaanga) and the contribution of the lower-level angaas to attain the final state of ‘Samaadhi’ or 'bliss'. b). It is also important to highlight the scientific supremacy of it (though the word ‘Science’ was not coined by that time), and of ancient India, as a whole.

Benefits of Yoga are many and varied. Thousands of books are available. It helps to train both our body and mind -- it's psychosomatic. Exercise and meditation takes away our stress and keep us fit.

Many people have different opinion of yoga some say it's for physical fitness other to improve brain power but the real meaning of yoga is union, the Union of atman(individual self) with paramatman(universal or absolute self). In Vedic dharma yoga is of four type(raja, jnana , Bhakti, karma yoga) and all r meant to achieve the absolute.what will u achieve by celebrating yoga day or appreciate yoga if u haven't experienced the absolute, all books, scripture means nothing if u haven't realise God.
