In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

dear sir, now a days in cities we don't have enough space for doing yoga. my suggestions, in all cities across the country 'Yog Sadhana Udyan' (gardens) can be established. where citizens can do YOGA. In such gardens statues with different yog Mudra and surya namaskar can be raised . similarly facility of contineous mantra jaap or OMKAR jap can be provided in such gardens. if such gardens are developed in your 100 smart cities. it will be a good combination of ancient and modern india

The word yoga is derived from Sanskrit root yuj meaning-to unite-the body, mind and intellect. The importance of yoga and the asanas and pranayama must be spread to all 193 nations of the world in order to celebrate this GRAND CULTURAL-HERITAGE-MORAL DAY! By spreading this yoga knowledge to every nook and corner of the world, the world will be full of peace, health, love and oneness out of meditation... The UN can easily unite the world by yoga. Let YOGA version of UN be started by India.

The program at UN can be started with some light on Vedas and history of yoga and demonstration by yogis of some asanas.Along with educational institutions corporates And government should take part in it too. They should in general have half an hour fitness options available to their employees and should be made complusary in schools. It should be clearly understood that YOGA IS NOT JUST A SET OF EXERSICE ITS A LIFESTYLE. Its the way we stand, sit, eat, breath, walk.... do our daily work.

CHANGE NAME OF OUR COUNTRY TO 'GOVT. OF BHARATA' ON YOGA DAY 'BHA' connotes effulgence, radiance lustre etc. 'RA' denotes the seed of fire, heat essence, golden colour etc. 'TA' indicates traversing, crossing, a small boat/raft etc. When a yogi practising YOGAKARMA through the heat essence located in the naval settles at Kutastha then visualising the immensely brilliant soul-effulgence he attains deliverance & achieves soul-knowledge. This state of a yogi only is termed as BHARATA.

Dear Modiji, Every good habit starts from the childhood days. Instead of introducing Yoga in the later years we must include it in our curriculum from the primary level itself. Make it compulsory for the students to do meditation for at least 10 min everyday before starting the class. Gradually introduce yoga for every students just as we have PE lessons Once it become a habit we will follow it for the rest of our lives.Regards Anuradha Nair.

They should in general have half an hour fitness options available to their employees where they can pratice yoga together.how much productivity will prove and stress levels will go down. In all Rehab centers ,jails, police stations they should have some kind of programme.

Kids grow up they have an option at college or university level if they want to persue it furthur. It can work well with Ayurveda courses. Yoga should be introduced at hospitals as a separate wing specially to cancer patients or ordinary patients, Yoga as a therapy should be popularised and promoted. World specially India should be reminded that it doesn't belong to any religion but to the whole humanity.

The real meaning of YOG should be sent across the globe by a YOGI . The message of 8 fold path i.e; Ashtang yog should be explained and how it can solve the current problems in the world.A scientific view of various asanas and pranayama should be explained beacause world now believes in science. Various institutions in India have been conducting reaearches so its time for them to speak up at UN level. As per my first suggestion it should be introduced at schools at younger age and by the time
