In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

Our health hinges on the good functioning of our internal organs. to wit: heart, lungs, reproductive organs, digestive organs like stomach, spleen, liver, pancreas, small & large intestines all require good blood supply which brings nutrients and oxygen to make them function optimally. Yoga postures help draw copious blood to the particular deprived areas to keep them from withering and consequently showing up as diseases. That is the essence of Yoga This should be trumpeted from roof top.

- Conduct Mass Surya Namskar at the same time, at all public places across India with the participation of all organizations. - Each academic day shall start with Surya Namskar in all schools. - Each child in our country should learn / know at least Surya Namaskar. - YOGA should be included in Indian school curriculum. ( It is already part of many western school curriculum, though they don't use the word Yoga but Gymnastics ) - An University should be set up for the Indian heritage.

I am a certified Yoga and Fitness trainer. I have been in this industry for a long time and firstly to mention that most of the bodyweight exercises have been evolved from Yoga. Most of the exercises have their base of yoga. Common health problems like treating acidity, Sinus etc can easily be treated with yoga. Also I believe that if there is more awareness amongst us then the prevention is better than cure motto wud make more sense.

Yoga is for the improvement of our body. At present we need think over how to make our new generation honest & how to bring patriotism into their being. For this we need change our education system. Do we only need a healthy generation if not honest ? Besides Yoga itself is not being applied properly. Infact there are no exercises at all in our schools. Whereas very first period should be given to physical exercise I think. But still I think that it is much more necessary to bring honesty .

Yoga practice is very much helpful to remain mentally and physically healthy. It is very much helpful to psychiatric disorder patients. Yoga along with homoeopathic treatment can help patients with psychiatric disorder to recover faster.I think it should be compulsory subject in medical colleges.
