In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

Yoga being an important part of our ancient times and all of us are aware of its multi purpose benefits, it could be introduced in school level so that this will benefit not only individuals but the whole society and the nation. We should try with various approaches to enlighten the importance of Yoga to all and make it a part of our daily life. This will definitely result in a sound mind and a healthy body. Jai Hind. Back in school/ college I had an ability to solve mathematical problems rather easily .I even did graduation in mathematics ( external) without any teacher. I am sure that this was because, in my younger days I used to practice YOGA, especially SHEERSHASAN early in the morning.

Best way to celebrate Yoga Day is open one yoga university in each state and start classes from start [5 years] age. courses not exceeding one month to be introduced for busy people in addition to Dip, Deg, PG, PhD courses for those who want Yoga as a career. By this India can be leader in Yoga Education and can collaborate with countries world over to spread Yoga and be called LEADER. I have seen Holland a small country is leader in exporting education & generating employment for their youth.

We can plan Yoga Shivirs in Morning and Evening where people can volunteer in all the cities of India at the famous places and ask citizen to turn up in large Numbers. Eg in Delhi India Gate lawns, Faridabad (Town Park), Mumbai (Shivaji Park) etc etc and other religious Gurus who have Marketed Yoga to reach to all must be Honoured. Short term Yoga courses can be started at the venues where People can register on the spot.

For marking International Day of Yoga, we should make it a grand event by celebrating a "Yoga Week" in the nation and all the renowned personalities in the filed of YOGA should teach the techniques of YOGA in the form of Pranayama, Aasanas & Meditation etc. and their performance should be telecasted LIVE during the week in all countries of the world with the help of national/international media. So that YOGA may reach to each and every people of the world for their well being and good health.

I would be honoured if allowed to develop the app platform for the same through my IT firm-Backbencher Developers. 3. To mark the celebration across india we can design a social media campaign to capture the nations mood and attract the global audience. I propose: #MyYogaAasana campaign. Here people will post their pictures or update status with the yoga they know or do with its benifits, with the above hashtag. This will mark the celebrations across India. Please email if you need assistance.
