In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

Central / State / PSU / all Govt related offices. 2. Ask the Industry / cooperate to incentivize their employees if they join Yoga classes 3. Should make it mandatory Yoga training for School Children for half n hour. 4. Should open Yoga clinics in every hospital and also should setup Yoga hospitals with PPP programmes. 5. Yoga Uni

1. Yoga should be made compulsory at least for 5 min everyday at school from elementary level, In offices, everyday for 5 min before starting the work, for every politician when he enters assembly or parliament for 5 mins and for all jail inmates. This would make Indians to free their mind from evil, be more patriotic, tolerant and less corrupt. Will make Indians more healthy and achieve better results in trade, science and governance.

Best way to celebrate Yoga is to practice it and adopt it in our life style. I think we should organize yoga practice camps in every city and village in India and worldwide where ever it is possible so that more and more people can get attached to it. and be benefited. For this we can take help of various Yoga Gurus.

APURVA BARJATYA, in this Forum, has correctly pointed out to start the channel on YOGA. If we can have NPTEL reference for Engineering Students, why not the same for school children? so that all around the globe, people can follow good things. Develop more YOGA universities, atleast ONE in each state, based on the population. Recruitment of well trained YOGA Masters both men and women, is a must, that too only as per the skills, not as per the reservation policies. Hope all will accept my words.

We as a nation need to start early atleast for the next generation. We see obesity, cholestrol, sugar and what not are the names one hear very often as an adult. The beneficiaries are only hospitals & pharma companies. 1. Make 30 minute yoga session compulsory from school level. This should become the DNA & aloocate marks. 2. Make India a tourist destination with Yoga package trips. 3. Initiate with the corporate to compulsorily provision for yoga and consider it part or employee development.
