R1-Reduce.Energy consumption at night is more to illuminate homes & other facilities. The energy used for industrial & agricultural activities is the most important part of the economy. Basic amenities like street lighting is almost 11 hrs burning throughout the country. The main reason being security & safety. A 100 watt LED street light will consume about 1 unit in 10 hrs. That is 365 units in a year approximately. Now there are peak hours, certain areas which require lighting throughout the night for movement of passengers or certain facilities. Now the point is say beyond 10pm to 5 am certain amount of lights could go off alternatively say 1 in 3 lights with a time switch which can go in rotation to give desired illumination pattern or reducing electronically to 66 watts this could save upto 30 % of night illumination on streets throughout the country. As long as we have renewable energy its ok. But fossil fuel burning is almost 500 gms of coal per Unit of electricity. That cont'd--

People understand the importance of organic food and they want natural manures and natural pest controls are adopted in farming. Issue is we are unable to implement bio and non-bio waste segregation at source. If we take out polythene or plastic bags then our segregation job will be easy. If we do not give polythene bags to public then glass, thicker plastic, metals, electrical and electronic waste can be easily recovered by giving some incentives. This waste will be similar to waste we collected in the year 1975, which can be easily converted into manure through vermicomposting and used for farming.

we should decrease unwanted lights in cities. senser based leds light should be installed instead of normal leds which can give light on those area only when it's necessary. such that we can save electricity, decrease light pollution & save insects which are necessary for ecosystem. decrease in light pollution can also increase our thinking abilities because children are able to see sky & stars these help them to think about cosmos. this can also help in preserving migrating birds. for security purposes we can also use night vision camera.

The furniture industry also uses several types of synthetic materials (arsenic and formaldehyde - suspected carcinogens that are used in adhesives, paints, and varnishes) mostly made from fossil fuels, such as oil which can double the negative impact on the environment.
Upholstered furniture and mattresses are particularly hard to clean and reprocess. As a result, more than 9 million tons of wood, metal, glass, fabric, leather, and foam waste ends up in a landfill. That’s why sustainable furniture – whether for home, office, or entertainment venue – has become a highly sought-after product.
Before you decide to get rid of it, consider refinishing your furniture to get a brand new look.

LED lights use 75% less energy to deliver the same amount of light as incandescents, and LED bulbs last 25 times longer. LED holiday string lights are not only more energy efficient and much cheaper over time, they also emit less heat (and therefore safer) and more durable. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, by 2027, the widespread use of LED lighting could save $30 billion in energy costs and reduce the use of electricity by the equivalent of 44 1,000-megawatt power plants.

If your TV, computer, cell phone or other consumer product containing electronics still works, give it to someone who can use it. There are nonprofits that specialize in the charitable redistribution of computers and companies that refurbish electronics for resale. If your electronic device is no longer serviceable, there are many recyclers who are interested in the valuable metals it contains.

The world's output of discarded electronic devices — known as e-waste — reached nearly 45 million metric tons in 2016, according to a report by United Nations Environment Program. Electronics require a lot of water, energy, and valuable resources in their manufacture, so their reuse and recycling are particularly critical to environmentally-sound waste management.

A great concern are the greenhouse gas emissions that result from these items manufacture and disposal. Store away a quantity of durable, bargain-priced dishes, flatware, and glassware for parties and picnics. Use cloth napkins, cloth diapers, cloth rags, rechargeable batteries, durable razors, and refillable coffee thermoses for take-out coffee.
