India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Renewable
5. Recover

Few examples for the above:

As we have seen the major part of air pollution is vehicle fuel in cities and Government of India 🇮🇳 is trying to introduce electric vehicle at smaller to larger level, in this best wishes to GOI. Definitely as good citizen of India we also committed to stop polluting in water of auspicious rivers too by inspiring our little kids not to malign rivers, because our kids are custodian of future New India, and we must try to educate upcoming generation on importance of dilute level of pollution in atmosphere.

Every citizen should take their responsibility in protecting our environment. Each residential apartments and houses should use water, electricity, petrol, diesel and gas without wasting it unnecessarily. Likewise wastage of food items during lavish parties, weddings and public events should not be there. Many food items are prepared and it is wasted. Instead of giving costly gifts one can sponsor some planting of saplings, distribute seed balls or gift solar panels for schools, orphanages and old age homes. 10 - 15% from the monthly salary of all MLAs and MPs should be cut compulsorily and the collected amount should be utilised to maintain greenery, install Recycling Units, erect stalls to sell tribal people products across the country. Every MLA and MP should take responsibility to protect the natural resources in their constituency. If anyone steals the natural resources like river sand and minerals in their constituency they should be held responsible. This has to be done.

we can install only solar panels alone on house or building top and permitting to sell execss electricity to power supply company grids. Adv: during day time electricity generation using coal or oil can be reduced.Since there is just a small battery backbup for lighting only, investment cost, maintenance cost and replacement cost are greatly reduced and user also can sell electricity. this encourage more people to invest in solar panels. in railway lines if install solar panels about 25 feet, then we can harvest electricity for 25 years and we can reduce railway"s EB load during daytime free of cost. If we do this worldwide and interconnect all country Grids, with out battery back up we can light the entire world free of cost.
