India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

Namaskarams, Everyone of us is aware of environmental issues and their consequences. Let us decide to respect the need of the care for future of the nature. I do not think that any programs are required to make the public aware of these. Let us reform to make the Earth suitable for our and our children living. JAIHIND ... 🇮🇳

Dear Prime Minister, It is very good initiative that you are taking suggestions from the people, hopefully they are considered and implemented. Here my few suggestions: first, put restrictions on the conversion of agricultural land to residential or commercial purpose. Everyone is selling their agricultural land and builders are exploiting the loopholes of the system to do construction. Second, whatever government owned lands are there in village or outside/inside cities, they should be planted with non-commercial and medicinal plants and trees. This will absorb carbon footprints and reduce the heat generated gradually. The cows and bulls which people don’t want now from the cities and villages can be kept there in the forests where they can graze and stay. Third, whenever government develops roads they cut so many trees. Sometimes very old trees are even cut which takes 50-60 years to grow big, I would suggest if any such tree is cut 4-5 trees of the same species should be planted.
