As Shri Amitabh Kant, Chairman Niti Ayog, India has 17% of worlds' population but only 4% of the world's water resources. Augmenting depleting water resources is the SINGLE major challenge for India. But at the same time unsustainable rate of population growth is another challenge. Please allocate sufficient funds, to devise measures such as provide incentives for couples restricting their children to two etc., Special focus is required for states having a very high population growth.

It is sad that salaried citizens have to pay tax on their salary, income and again on every purchase of basic items. Why can’t tax be on purchases alone? This would bring more spending power than saving and in-return economy growth. Else existing tax exemption limit of 1.5 L is absurd, comparative to current inflation and inflated school/tuition fees. Government must regulate impractical real estate price, school fees, medical expenses etc. for the betterment of every citizen.

Respected Madam, I am sharing few suggestions for upcoming union budget 1. For salaried person please change the HRA calculations. Currently rent paid more than 1 lac p.a will require owner's PAN which usually he did not provide to save tax on the rented income and the person paying rent have to declare the minimum amount i.e ₹ 8300 irespective of the actual rent paid. Also the defination of metro cities should be re consider. In NCR only Delhi is considered as Metro but not Noida or GGN.

Please consider increasing the Corporate Social Responsibility contribution from existing 2% of average profits to 5% of the average profits under the Companies Act, 2013 so that the entire funds could be harnessed for the improved performance of India in the coming olympic games (pathetically India is holding 67th rank in the olympic medal list of 2016)

Sir/Madam, The present system of giving credit to deductees for TDS being deducted by Deductors has become outdated. System based automated credit of TDS deducted and deposited in Bank by Deductor should be introduced. The amount of TDS deducted and deposited in Bank by any deductor should be squared off by giving respective credit to deductees as per the PAN numbers furnished by the Deductor to the Bank.

Government should reduce the tax on gold and silver. Government should also takes some steps to reduce the unemployment. According to survey , only 47% students get jobs after engineering. This is the serious issue, either you close the colleges or create employment for students. For eg, bring foreign companies to India. So Indians will get employment.
