Dear Hon. PM, I am a teacher by profession. A lot of emphasis is given to examinations by students, parents and teachers. Instead emphasis should be given to acquiring knowledge, comprehending, analyzing the knowledge and innovating ways to improve the acquired knowledge. We need to do away with the mindset of pass and fail. We should instead gauge the extent of knowledge acquired by giving students umpteen tasks to do on any given topic. Teachers should stop running after completing the syllabus and focus more on how much the student has understood. Shun examinations and start different levels of teaching various concepts at least for lower classes.
