Just as the government successfully launched the ONOS initiative to democratize access to high-impact scholarly research for students and faculty across all institutions, a parallel "One Nation, One Textbook" policy could serve as the foundational pillar for educational equity in India.
By creating a standardized, high-quality, and digitally integrated core curriculum from Pre-Nursery to Grade 12, the nation can bridge the persistent quality gap between government and private schools, ensuring every student—regardless of their geography or socioeconomic status—has a level playing field. This unified knowledge base would not only eliminate the burden of varying, expensive private textbooks but, when coupled with integrated audio-video material and teacher training, would empower students across India to meet the rigorous demands of competitive national examinations, effectively positioning the country as a global hub for knowledge-driven growth in line with Viksit Bharat 2047.

Respected Prime Minister Modiji,
I write on behalf of Alliance Educational Foundation, which has run Sri Adwayananda Public School, Kerala, since 1987.
Inspired by ‘Make in India’, ‘Vocal for Local’, and women-led development, we redesigned our school uniform using locally sourced handloom cotton. In collaboration with designer Kadambari Misra and the Kalliasseri Weavers Co-op, we created a breathable, climate-appropriate uniform that reflects Indian identity while ensuring comfort, dignity, and equality.
Led by our Chairperson, Smt Radhika Prasad Krishnachandran, this initiative supports 200+ weavers—primarily women—strengthening rural livelihoods and preserving traditional crafts.
We believe such models advance your vision at the grassroots and hope more schools align with your transformative ideas.
Respectfully,
Asha Nanavati
Joint Secretary
