Technical Education is the backbone of a growing nation like us and we have taken massive strides in incorporating diverse fields into its realm. Since the inception of New Education Policy which is due to take full charge in the next couple of years, the supervisory level education (polytechnics which grants 3 year diplomas) is in a state of confusion. In the new policy the students will be pursuing 4 years secondary education after 8th and the entry to diploma level polytechnics is Matric. A clear policy regarding the new structure and the relevance of diploma in the New Education Policy is required. The matter has already been taken up at the department and state govt level.
