1) While CGHS is a laudable initiative, for it to be effective and reach the last pensioner or senior citizen, I propose that doctors of CGHS or authorized hospitals visit senior citizens at their doorsteps. This could be either on a monthly/ quarterly/ half-yearly/ annual basis for a general medical check-up. The current concern is mobility of senior citizens to the clinic. This can be avoided with this move. Also it is revival of the age old " family doctor" clinic. The onus can be put on those young doctors who graduate this year and add some points while assessing them and awarding the MBBS or MD degree.
