World Lake Day, August 27 On World Lake Day, August 27, we celebrate lakes as vital lifelines for society, especially in India and Chennai. Lakes sustain biodiversity, regulate climate, and provide water for drinking and agriculture. In Chennai, lakes like Porur and Chembarambakkam are crucial for flood control and groundwater recharge. Their preservation is essential for sustainable development and community well-being. Let’s protect our lakes for future generations. 2) create letter boxes in school so that students can post letters anonymously and share their problems and bottled up feelings and then a teacher or expert counselor can LISTEN and help children come out of problems.
