One of the key priorities of the Government is to provide a non-adversarial and a responsive tax administration with the main objective of creating an environment conducive for achieving higher investments and growth. At the same time the focus is also on ensuring ease of doing business for the taxpayers. For individual taxpayers, Government endeavours to promote voluntary compliance by making compliance easy and reducing the cost of compliance for the taxpayers. These steps are aimed to ultimately result in buoyant revenue collections, reflecting higher growth, leading to higher standard of living and better quality of life for the citizens.

The Department of Revenue invites taxpayers and general public to provide innovative ideas and suggestions on tax policy and administrative issues with the objective of ease of doing business and reducing compliance cost for industries thereby facilitating buoyancy of revenue and increase in investment leading to higher growth.

Kindly abolish Income Tax and substitute it with an expenditure tax, which can be as low as 0.5% on all Sales & Services. This could actually be much more than the collection of Income Tax. This would remove the documentation of all the tax payers and necessitate the payment of tax by even those who purchase in cash. Thus, we can have a huge resource, cash as well as manpower, due to release of Income tax staff, available for developing the Infrastructure of the Country, which is also the focus

In respect to cash deposit transaction in bank, I suggest to implement 1% cash transaction tax above rs.10 lacks as TDS/TCS, in a year, as the bank are charging cash management charges from customer, it will be better to charge such tax for avoiding the evasion of tax. No inquiry should be made, if the tax deducted/collected not claimed in return. The black money flowing in market will directly come in to flow of taxation in all next transaction will be benefit for development, best wishes

Today everyone is educated and understands the intention of govt to collect tax and would generally not avoid tax because it will give only marginal benefits. However, the cumbersome tax collection manner and complications of indirect taxes encourage the tax payer for not paying taxes because it is not feasible for small businessman to go through such complicated processes (for eg Octroi). They feel tax avoidance including their consequences easier than tax payment. So taxation should be simpler

Presently many middle class parents are moving to old age/retirement homes and face lot of hassles in managing their meagre corpus with safe banks etc. Also they sell their existing properties and move to these homes by paying refundable deposits. To help them it would be good if Investment in Annuities of LIC like Jeevan Akshay / refundable deposits to old age/retirement homes be included in Sec 54 EC of I T Act as eligible option for Capital Gain Exemption.

#TaxPolicy As policy measure any branded unhealthy non alcoholic drinks should have a health tax. The money from such tax should be put in an escrow account to fund AIIMS all over the country. The tax rate should be high so that consumption of such drinks is discouraged. Such drinks are also use natural resources and increase commodity prices without positive impact on the society and country.

I suggest you should tax anyone who is earning more than 10 crore as a way of Dividends at 20% from stock holding. Also please abolish the dividend distribution tax and abolish the Dividend for anyone other than that. This would encourage retail participation in stocks and would not impact government revenue #TaxAdministration

I assume tax free bonds are for common man to earn tax free interest and increase savings. There is an HNI section and I understand their investment is also needed so long term projects can be initiated. I suggest to put a cap on amount of tax free interest an individual or HUF can earn. Also their allocation quota needs to be reduced and retail quota needs to be increase. The demand for such bonds would not go down as all issues are subscribed within hours of opening. #TaxAdministration

The current LTA rules allow for LTA claim twice in a block of four years. The policy was relevant 20 years ago, it needs to keep up with the times - the LTA claim should be allowed once every Financial Year. This will also give a boost to the Tourism industry with more people utilizing this benefit.

Now since the conditions of govt. hospital is in shambles people go to private hospitals . but since hospitals burn a hole in your pocket u take a mediclaim policy.... Now instead of providing benefits on this mediclaim or providing qualit healthcare govt. makes it more regressive by applying service tax
