Have consulting, collaborative & coaching interaction types with compassion. Adults/students must feel safe to learn. Avoid providing opinions instead provide evidence. Incorporate mentoring as criteria in faculty performance. Monitor abuses of power by mentor. Allow second degree as credentials to students learned through mentoring like non-academic skills. Mentoring beginning teachers. Every student must have a mentor & each mentor should not have more than 5-8 mentees. Have retrospective meet

Mentor shouldn’t treat mentee as free labour thus place etiquette & ethical code of conduct in mentoring. Define stages of mentoring like initiation, cultivation, separation & redefinition(to continue social relationship). Create an institutional award for distinguished mentors. Ensure understanding the mentor workforce in rural communities. Increase individual support to most vulnerable students. Improve student guidance mechanism & transition from school to labour market. Have Guide to mentor
