The National Commission for Women, a Statutory Body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has the mandate to safeguard the constitutional and statutory rights of women. The Commission initiates program which aids empowerment and holistic development of women so that they are capable to gain access to opportunities and make their own decisions.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was launched in 2000 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on November 25th. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. This day aims to eliminate violence by removing stigma and encouraging women to speak out against abusers. This day defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological harm to women. The goal of this day is to achieve equality, development, and peace. It aims toward the fulfillment of women's and girls’ human rights.

In pursuance of its mandate and in order to achieve the goal of ‘Elimination of Violence against Women', the Commission invites inputs, suggestions, and feedback from all stakeholders through MyGov Portal, with a focus on Breaking the Silence against Gender Violence. The aim of the programme is to promote equality, development, and peace among the masses.

The last date to receive suggestions/input is 24th December 2021.

Laws alone cannot eliminate violence against women. Mindset of society needs to be changed. Women are engaged to sell men's underwear in advertisements why? Portraying women as show pieces in advertisements shall stop. Women centric advertisements shall stop. Why shall women be engaged to sell any xyz product in an advertisement even if it has no use for women?

Women should be protected from domestic violence. They have to be given proper jobs for their survival once they leave the family, and there should certain helpline available for women to contact them and complain about the problems.Mostly women from rural areas are affected the most who don't have much background and good facilities for future survival.Women should be given proper councelling and mental stability is the most important in all these aspects.

Modi ji, In current Indian society both Men and Women undermine the feminine, and commit violence against feminine. Whereby women have become more masculine by moving out of families and doing economic cores, men have taken up family level feminine duties. Request you to establish fine balance between Masculine and Feminine by Incentivizing feminine by policy infrastructure of rewarding both men and women who secure feminine by bearing quality families and children for country's future.
