The National Commission for Women, a Statutory Body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has the mandate to safeguard the constitutional and statutory rights of women. The Commission initiates program which aids empowerment and holistic development of women so that they are capable to gain access to opportunities and make their own decisions.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was launched in 2000 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on November 25th. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. This day aims to eliminate violence by removing stigma and encouraging women to speak out against abusers. This day defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological harm to women. The goal of this day is to achieve equality, development, and peace. It aims toward the fulfillment of women's and girls’ human rights.

In pursuance of its mandate and in order to achieve the goal of ‘Elimination of Violence against Women', the Commission invites inputs, suggestions, and feedback from all stakeholders through MyGov Portal, with a focus on Breaking the Silence against Gender Violence. The aim of the programme is to promote equality, development, and peace among the masses.

The last date to receive suggestions/input is 24th December 2021.

6. If sexually abused then seize all properties of accused, if possible to handover to victim or victim family or auction and handover the money to the family. Same punishment for any govt. person (DM, Police, etc) who do not help her during need without any true reason. 7. As some times rape victims were highly depressed due to society behavior, then if possible provide a different name and identity to girl and family and shift them to other place with support. Whereas accused family exposed.

Some common and some uncommon suggestions. 1. Make app where men's and ladies both have to register with oath that whatever situation or complain they will share will be true. If anything found false or misusing then legal actions will be taken. 2. All violence area majorly 3 types. Post marriage and pre marriage. If Post marriage if violence occur due to dowry demand then legally all property and bank account of accused family will be hand over to lady or if demise then to her family forever.

Discrimination and violence against women has been persistent before the independence and after the independence as well. A change in laws and judiciary would help women to stay protected and get justice. As we know about the Nirbhaya case, it took more than 7 years for the dead victim to get justice. As popularly said JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED, thus a strong and power judiciary should be set up. Even before all the changes teach the SONS of the country to not touch the DAUGHTERS.

Two most important things to stop violence against women are: 1) To make strict and timely judgement for crime against women so that criminals should have Fear of law. 2) Mothers should teach their sons from Childhood to respect women.
