The National Commission for Women, a Statutory Body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has the mandate to safeguard the constitutional and statutory rights of women. The Commission initiates program which aids empowerment and holistic development of women so that they are capable to gain access to opportunities and make their own decisions.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was launched in 2000 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on November 25th. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. This day aims to eliminate violence by removing stigma and encouraging women to speak out against abusers. This day defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological harm to women. The goal of this day is to achieve equality, development, and peace. It aims toward the fulfillment of women's and girls’ human rights.

In pursuance of its mandate and in order to achieve the goal of ‘Elimination of Violence against Women', the Commission invites inputs, suggestions, and feedback from all stakeholders through MyGov Portal, with a focus on Breaking the Silence against Gender Violence. The aim of the programme is to promote equality, development, and peace among the masses.

The last date to receive suggestions/input is 24th December 2021.

Violence against women or anybody else cannot develop over night. But over the period since childhood, it develops. Here we team aking laws&acts but in vain.It is due to lack of morality and ethics.Values must be nurtured since childhood and should be continued, monitored at all levels.Making laws&acts is not enough. But our curriculum, education, activities, attitude must be value oriented.Naturally, biologically women have the great diversification.Their role in family should be highlighted

Due to increased business and commercial development, women focussed intern of business, trade, commerce, advertisement, publicity and attraction.Corporate companies and advertisement companies are treating women as commercial element. Unfortunately for money sake,Companies,Govt& Private sector holdings, film industry are forgetting the greatness&value of women. They misuse and degrade the women's position in the society and the same were allowed by the Govt too without any objection& censorship.

Dear Sir Counselling,Training,Awareness classes with both Men and Women must assume significance to arrest this tendency.Retired teachers and Trainers and Govt.employees must be utilised for this cause. The main problem in this aspect is ignorance and lack of education and basic literacy.Once some refinement is introduced into the behavioural patterns with regard to responses, attitudes, patience in men there can be a marked change in their behaviour.Banning of liquor can be a major step here.

Men in general and husbands in marriage are not scared of police, laws or government. Police and government need to be very strict that men should be very scared to even think of committing domestic violence or crimes against women. After Marriage after having kids these days most men almost 95% of men are involved in illegal sexual affairs outside of marriage when the wife reaches to police or court not enough support especially in cases of giving maintenance to the suffering women n kids 🙏🏻
