The National Commission for Women, a Statutory Body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has the mandate to safeguard the constitutional and statutory rights of women. The Commission initiates program which aids empowerment and holistic development of women so that they are capable to gain access to opportunities and make their own decisions.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was launched in 2000 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on November 25th. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. This day aims to eliminate violence by removing stigma and encouraging women to speak out against abusers. This day defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological harm to women. The goal of this day is to achieve equality, development, and peace. It aims toward the fulfillment of women's and girls’ human rights.

In pursuance of its mandate and in order to achieve the goal of ‘Elimination of Violence against Women', the Commission invites inputs, suggestions, and feedback from all stakeholders through MyGov Portal, with a focus on Breaking the Silence against Gender Violence. The aim of the programme is to promote equality, development, and peace among the masses.

The last date to receive suggestions/input is 24th December 2021.

Sir time to think of women security. 1. Each and every rapist is a Demon and he should not be spared at all. According to me after trial if found guilty every rapist whether he had committed rape with minors or adults or old should be hanged. Such a person is capable of capital punishment only. Nothing to think on this plz don't let them free. Even the one who had not committed big rape should also be hanged as he can commit big rapes in future. No life imprisonment nothing this will ignite fear

Violence against women will be severely punished. When the punishment is as severe as in the Gulf countries, those who do wrong begin to fear

Girls must be brought up in such a society that she is free to raise her voice against anything wrong happening with her. Sometimes, they are forbidden from speaking out because of lack of courage in them

Women empowerment and security is the most revolutionary issue. There are many voices against our laws that exist for 70+ years. We need to have a more strict and strengthened laws to save many more girls in future. Education and Mutual Respect must be encouraged from the very young age to all gender sections.

First I thank my Gov. for giving us opportunity to present our views on "Elimination of violence against women".For this I started from myself. On Raksha bandhan and Diwali Bhaubij I take aOath as a gift from my brother, that is "As you give respect to me,in the same way respect all the ladies who come in your contact.Never missbehave with anylady for any reason. This is a valuable gift for me from you." 2.step is we should train each girl to become brave to protect herself and be self-reliance.
