To address the growing concerns in the present Accreditation and Ranking systems of the Government of India had constituted a High-Level Committee. This Committee considered the introduction of strategic reforms consistent with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the need for adopting a simple, trust-based, objective and rationalized system for approval, accreditation and ranking of Higher Educational Institutions with a verifiable and secured centralised database through technology-driven modern systems. Methodologies for facilitating Ease of Doing Business for the stakeholders, duly facilitating students in making more informed choices for selection of institutions/ programmes were also considered by the Committee.

After a series of deliberations, a High-Level Committee has submitted its draft Report on ‘Transformative Reforms for Strengthening Periodic Assessment and Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions in India’ to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In light of this, MyGov, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, seeks feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the finalisation of the report.

This report has now been placed in the public domain until June 22, 2023.

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is very crucial role in Governing India. It is highly unfortunate to have Reservations system based on the Caste/Religion in selecting the Candidates. We completely understand that Economically backward Families should get free Education. But it should be until participating the Exams. It is upto the student to prove their talent in the Exams/Selection process and score better results. Many Talents who scored higher marks are losing the opportunity and candidates with lesser scoring are selected and entering into the Services due to the Reservation system. It certainly impacts the growth system of Bharat. It is high time we should take out the Reservations from our Education system, especially in the Civil Services. For Bharat to move from Developing Nation to Developed Nation, the Governing Officers should come from the top cream irrespective of their Caste/Religion and not from the Reservations.

We require a comprehensive evaluation system that assesses the quality of education in all Indian higher education institutions. This evaluation shall be carried out by authorized personnel who have been trained by the Ministry of Education to inspect and evaluate all higher educational institutions in accordance with international standards, as well as to conduct follow-up to guarantee that the necessary criteria have been reached. Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions should be based on the below factors. The level of achievement of students. Students' personal and social growth, as well as their ability to innovate. The level of student safety and well-being, as well as the supervision and support they receive.

All higher education institutions are specialized in their teaching Details of experts, inventors and researchers should be obtained from the concerned department and they should be consulted for designing strategic course programs in their higher education institutions. There are various organization & divisions in a department. Among these, higher education institutions should invite nationally accomplished and innovative individuals and institutions to be their strategic curriculum design consultants. Higher education institutions should have experts in the relevant field at the national level, those who have made new changes, those who have made new policies, those who have created new programs and systems, and those who have given advice as their advisors to better design the curriculum. The govt should encourage field experts and innovators to fill the posts of Professor of Practice in their higher education institutions.
