To address the growing concerns in the present Accreditation and Ranking systems of the Government of India had constituted a High-Level Committee. This Committee considered the introduction of strategic reforms consistent with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the need for adopting a simple, trust-based, objective and rationalized system for approval, accreditation and ranking of Higher Educational Institutions with a verifiable and secured centralised database through technology-driven modern systems. Methodologies for facilitating Ease of Doing Business for the stakeholders, duly facilitating students in making more informed choices for selection of institutions/ programmes were also considered by the Committee.

After a series of deliberations, a High-Level Committee has submitted its draft Report on ‘Transformative Reforms for Strengthening Periodic Assessment and Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions in India’ to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In light of this, MyGov, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, seeks feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the finalisation of the report.

This report has now been placed in the public domain until June 22, 2023.

The ministry of education should monitor the implementation of the Mid Day Meal (MDM) scheme in all states to ensure that grain and other material provided for schools is properly utilised or not for students, or is there any malpractice or corruption in such a supply chain? Also, instructions should be given to district education officers to conduct regular inspections at every school to check their records and get feedback from students regarding the quality of food provided by the school under the MDM scheme. In Maharashtra, there are a number of schools having complaints regarding this, and an inspection is also done, and school administration is found guilty in such cases, but the shameless education department and official ignorance promote corruption in this scheme, which defeats the purpose of the scheme.     so I request to conduct inspections and inquiries of such institutes to revoke their grant given by the government.

We need an audit of the education system in each institution frequently. Every semester affects the learning capabilities of students. Audit should be on a quarterly basis rather than one time in a few years. There has to be an in-house audition system in every institution which audits every month. Human development is much more complex than finance.

How can the government allow people who are not related to industries to run engineering colleges. Rules should be tightened for engineering colleges like medical colleges. Some of the government's interest in college accreditation should be concerned with who administers it. Engineers are supposed to be employers. It hurts to see them as job seekers. The students who graduate with an engineering degree are not able to earn as much as those who have studied school education and vocational education. Higher education is not a place to make money. Accreditation of institutes of higher education should be instituted by eligible persons at reasonable fees. For the first time across the country, the number of people coming to higher education institutes to get degrees is high. The rules for starting and accrediting engineering colleges should be strict like medical colleges. Only those who run factories should be allowed to run engineering colleges.

Dear Prime Minister Sir, Earlier I have already submitted suggestion on Accreditation of institutions of higher education. However I have a humble suggestion as under. China has just managed to manufacture a Passenger plane recently and successful tested a flight operation. Sir, Please open an independent department for Research and Development of Passenger Plane. I understand that this technology and expertise so far was available only with USA and France and UK. If we can manufacture Passenger Planes then we can not only save Billions of dollars of foreign exchange but we can even earn by selling Passenger Planes to other countries. We will also be counted in the list of most advanced nations by technology because as I understand manufacturing Passenger Planes is the most difficult process technology wise. Pardon me sir, if I am wrong and also for using this platform to convey my suggestion. If we achieve this then all other jobs for our Scientists will be far easier. Thank you.

Higher education accreditation is a type of quality assurance process under which services and operations of post-secondary educational institutions or programs are evaluated to determine if applicable standards are met. If standards are met, accredited status is granted by the agency. In most countries around the world, the function of educational accreditation for higher education is conducted by a government organization, such as a ministry of education. In the United States, however, the quality assurance process is independent of government and performed by private agencies.[1] Canada takes a unique positions, not allowing any accreditation by government or private agencies, causing some Canadian institutions to seek accreditation by American agencies.[2] The United States-based Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), a non-governmental organization, maintains an international directory which contains contact information of about 467 quality assurance bodies, accredit
